❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can beginners join this workshop?
A: Yes, competent beginners are welcome! However, we highly recommend that you are comfortable operating your camera in low light or complete darkness — including adjusting focus, ISO, shutter speed, and aperture without relying on bright lights or auto settings. The Milky Way shoot requires familiarity with manual controls.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: In the event of rain, we will adjust the shooting schedule where possible or explore alternative locations. Some elements of the workshop (like theory, editing tips, or image reviews) may also be conducted indoors. Photography in natural environments always comes with weather unpredictability, so flexibility is part of the experience.
Q: What if we can’t capture the Milky Way due to cloud cover or weather?
A: While we plan our schedule and locations based on the best astronomical timing and weather forecasts, Milky Way visibility is ultimately dependent on sky conditions. Unfortunately, clear skies can’t be guaranteed. That said, we’ll make the most of every opportunity for night photography, and there are still plenty of unique compositions, light trails, and landscape elements to work with even if conditions aren’t perfect.
Q: Will I need to stay up late at night?
A: Yes — most of the key shooting sessions will take place at night, especially during the early hours of the morning when the Milky Way is most visible. Participants should be prepared for late-night or overnight shooting, with rest and downtime scheduled in the daytime.
Q: Will there be editing or post-processing sessions?
A: While this is primarily a shooting workshop, we’ve scheduled time for an informal indoor sharing session where Bryan may discuss editing techniques and review images. Participants are welcome to share and ask questions during that time.
Q: Is there a minimum age to join?
A: Participants should be at least 18 years old. Exceptions may be made for younger participants if accompanied by a paying adult, but please contact us in advance.
Q: Can I bring a non-photographer friend or family member?
A: No. This is a focused, interest-based workshop designed specifically for photography enthusiasts. Only registered participants will be allowed to join the trip, as the group size and logistics are planned to ensure the best experience for those actively participating in the workshop.
